Lately I have been getting a lot of questions about “furries” or the fandom. Most do not know about it and the few who do hate it if they are not furries themselves. I myself am a self-pronounced “Furry”. There is nothing wrong with people like us. I am sick and tired that everyone thinks that it is only about sick sexual fantasies and that we are freaks who cannot get grips on reality. Well, I have news for you all, WE ARE NOT! Furries are kind and compassionate, although there are some who ruin it for the rest; most are not like those “out-of-line” furries. Now onto more important matters… The most common questions I hear are, “What is a ‘Furry’ or a fan of the furry fandom?” and “Why are you a furry?” Well those are tricky question to answer but I wanted to anyways, so I will do so now:

“What is a ‘Furry’ or a fan of the furry fandom?”
Well, there are many different types of furries, but for the sake of time I will just give you info on the basic furry, which I am. A basic furry is where people enjoy the basics of furry, anthromorphic creatures. I have a few links that will teach you about what a “furry” actually is in better terms…

“Why are you a furry?”
This is a very difficult question to answer… I learned about “furries” about 10 months ago while searching the web. I quickly became interested because I had recently developed a liking for a certain animal, the wolf or more specific, the artic wolf. I was quickly becoming a big fan of wolves and was looking for other people who were too. I found someone that was and she introduced me to this fandom. I was actually enticed by it and found it quite exhilarating. I got into the fandom more and more by talking to this girl that goes by the furry name of Larka. Well, to the point, I am a furry because I feel like I have many things in common with animals and instincts. I sometimes feel like I could be better off as an animal. I feel as if I could be a better animal then a human, sometimes. My life has had its hardships and I am still living and breathing. Sometimes I just don’t know what to do. Being a furry helped me out in so many ways, ways most people cannot understand. I am glad I figured out I was a furry. When I imagine myself as a creature of my choice I feel like I am free to be myself and free to do what ever I like to. I feel life has no troubles. I am a furry because I like to feel like myself, which I do not in real life…
